How To Find The Most Profitable Niche Quickly
Most often than not, every wise online entrepreneur wants to know the full potential of a niche before venturing into it.
Because the odds against going into a niche that’s not well researched are high. It’s a sad and annoying experience for anyone to pour himself into building a site that has no chance of success.
It’s always good to start off on the right foot. So, today, I’m going to show you how to find a profitable niche.
I have segmented the steps of finding a profitable niche into 4 extremely simple steps for you.
Therefore, I’ll define a niche as your blog or site topic.
Let’s look at it this way, your blog is like a textbook.
Every textbook has a title, right?
And the content of the textbook is a reflection of the title of the book.
This is the same way to look at your blog.
Using the example above, your blog is the textbook.
While the title is the niche.
So, everything you write in your blog is an offshoot of your blog niche.
I hope this is clear. Your niche is simply your blog title or your blog topic.
You may start with little knowledge, but you carefully develop your site over a period of time, you hone your skills and eventually become an expert on the topic. As an expert, you become the go-to source for information. This, in turn, makes it easier for you to sell any product you create.
Not only that. it also becomes easier to be found on google and much easier to build your tribe.
Even more importantly, operating in a niche keeps you focused and prevent you from going on a crazy chase of so many birds at the same time.
Though not everybody will agree with me on this because there are many bloggers operating in many niches and making a success of it.
I’d, however, advise you not to go this way especially if you are a beginner. The reason is that it will require you to have enough resources (in terms of financing and manpower) to run a multi-niche blog.
You can make money from any niche you decide to embrace, however, some are worth your time and effort more than the others.
These niches are:
- Money making
- Health and fitness
- Self-improvement
- Relationship and dating
- Personal finance
- Food
- Beauty and fashion
Here’s something to keep on your fingertips before you go looking for a niche.
In order to succeed online you have to be different from the crowd, but not necessarily original.
Unfortunately, many may interpret this to mean coming up with something that has not been done before.
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel to succeed online. Go with what’s already working.
Because they are tested and true.
These niches are already in high demand, have endless products for sale, as well as large social media following, and also have groups and forums that can help you to grow quickly.
In a nought shell, your aim should be to choose a niche that’s already doing well and give it more boost.
- Brainstorm your niche idea
- Select your best five niches
- Find the potential of the niches
- Do an in-depth research of your competitors
This shouldn’t be difficult, I have given you some already. Perhaps, you may have other ideas. That’s fine, what’s most important is to have an idea. How do you come up with profitable niche ideas? Coming up with niche ideas is fairly simple. Niches ideas are everywhere around you. Let’s see how to find profitable niches with low competition you need to hit the ground running. use the question below to quickly come up with profitable niche ideas.
- What are you passionate about?
- What skill or knowledge do you possess?
- Have you seen any niche where the blogger is making huge income?
- Have you been able to identify a pain point in people’s life you can proffer a solution?
- What do you fancy and willing to learn very well?
- Do you have a relationship issue or have I been successful in any relationship?
- What are the challenges you’ve faced or I’m facing?
- What product do you use?
- What do you commonly talk about when you are with your friends? Some talk about sports, fashion, food, how to make money….
Write down any idea that comes to you. You’ll be amazed at the huge list of ideas you’ve come up with.
You’re not building a business to please yourself, but to please your audience.
Now, this brings me to a popular issue in determining your niche, which is “should you go with your passion?’
When you’re passionate about something, you keep going with it no matter what you encounter. The reason for this is because you love doing it.
This is why some school of thought believes you should choose a niche you are passionate about.
Every endeavour in life has its high and low times, with blogging not being an exception. Without a doubt, In your low time in blogging, you need passion to keep you going.
However, as a human being, you need a reward to keep your passion burning.
In other words, if you are in blogging to make an income, you soon become dispassionate about your niche if you are not earning from it.
This is why I believe, you should have a balance.
Go for a niche you are passionate about and has the potential to generate money.
Otherwise, passion alone may soon lead to frustration.
On the other hand, if you are passionate about a highly competitive niche, go for it. You can make a kill here because the high competition is an indication of profitability.
These are the people that are targeting the idea you have come up with.
They are already established players in the niche market you are targeting.
What advantages do you have here?
You will be able to discover their content, marketing strategies and their monetization strategies.
Remember, you are here to do it BETTER. No matter how influential your competitor is, if you do it better, you will shine above him.
Therefore study him closely; his activities on social media, check his comment section and get frank opinions there, check his tone of writing and study his target audience.
Next, let’s see how to research your competitors in your niche.
I presume you already have your 5 niche ideas written down.
Each of these niche ideas is a seed keyword.
Here’s what to do with it.
- I’m going to assume you love “weight loss” as one of the challenges you’ve faced
Now “weight loss” becomes your seed keyword.
Quickly from the top of your head, you can come up with potentially profitable niches list, Such as,
- Weight loss meals
- Weight loss equipment
- Weight loss exercises
- Weight loss for new mom
- Weight loss for the belly
- Weight loss for senior
- Weight loss for obese children.
- Weight loss books
- Weight loss programs… the list just goes on.
At this point, this is what you do with this.
Take each of these niches and search for it in google.com.
Visit each of the top 15 sites. These are your competitors for “weight loss meals.”
Do same for the other niches.
You should be able to find a big list of your competitors after doing this for each of the niches.
Study the site design.
Is the design appealing? Is it easy to navigate? check the colour, font, content layout and graphics (is it vector, stock images or life photo)
Is the site focused on your topic, or is it operating in different niches (sites like this may be too broad for you to model after. You may drop this as a competitor)?
Find out the affiliate sites there are linking out to, do they have their products? How is the site monetised?
Check how their products are placed on their sites. These sites know the best position to place their product for maximum conversion.
Also, check their freebies and call to action.
These tools allow you to easily research the top content ( great place for you to gather keywords that are doing best for your new site, traffic sources, social media, as well as the sales pages of your competitor.
And write shortly about their top content, how much traffic and major traffic sources, take about social media traffic number
Now based on the information you gathered from each of the 15 sites in each of the niche market, you’ll be able to make a decision on whether to move forward with your niche or not.
This is the deal.- if your competitors’ site has large traffic, have large social media following, have products as well as affiliate products, then there is a strong positive signal you’ll be successful in this niche if you really work hard at it.
