Why you have to cure yourself of the addiction to blogging as a hobby

  1. The cost of blogging is expensive.

Let no one deceive you, blogging isn’t cheap. You may start with small or nothing, but as you progress in blogging the expenses start to build up really quickly.

When starting a blog, you require a domain name. You can register a domain name through this top domain name registrar. Once you have chosen a domain name you will require a blogging platform and a hosting service.

No doubt, in order to cushion this expensive hobby most bloggers opt for free hosting services.  Nevertheless, some also employ the use of premium tools. And some of these tools are expensive.

To give you an idea, let’s look at the hosting service I use and have found reliable. It cost $3.95/month with Bluehost, excluding site security and all other add-ons you need when starting your blog.

With that said, let look at the autoresponder service. I’m aware there are free email tools to use online, and yes, we all love free stuff. However, most of the stuffs that are advertised as free online are nothing short of deals. We get into an agreement to use a certain tool for a specified amount of time, after which we start paying.

Take, for example, the email service provider I use- mailerlite-. When you sign up with them, you don’t get to pay anything until you reach 1000 subscribers or you’ve sent out a 1000 emails.

Whoops!

Is this service provider expensive and unfair? No, this is how it is on the market. Believe me, I’ve tried several before settling for mailerlite. Up till now, I haven’t found any issue with them.

   2. It’s possible to make money from your blog.

Most professional bloggers started their blog as a hobby which eventually got converted to business.

So, there isn’t any reason why you can’t convert your blog to money making. Good enough, you love to blog, that has already sorted out the most difficult part of blogging.
